WWB 2019 Update 2/1 to 2/3
Big Excitement and some Big fish too! We have kicked off our first weekend with fish in the boat and some happy ladies.
We had some ice flowing at first so we did some fishing in Hells Canyon and Hammer Creek, then we decided to bring a couple boats back over and were able to break some ice and fish at Spring Bar. We are unable to get the boats to Vinegar at this point due to the road conditions. A lot of the ice has flowed out as of yesterday, but we have some snow in forecast and some really cold night temperatures coming so we will be continuing to monitor the river and road! Despite all of this the ladies have been kicking butt and still reeling in some fish, of all species!
Day 1 resulted in Lori Reche from Telori Volk’s 2 boat crew landing a 34″ Steelhead which also lands her in our First Place Biggest Fish and she continues to hold that place now. Congratulations Lori we are all very happy for you, great moment, first steelhead ever and a dandy!
Day 2 off and running with more fish! Still have 2 boats in Hells Canyon and 2 over at Spring Bar. Candy Franscella caught herself a 27″ Steelhead which put her in for 2nd Place Biggest Fish. Also on her boat Shelby Tonkin and Chelsea Terry reeled in a couple 24″ steelies. Over in Hells Canyon we had a single steelhead catch and one of our boats got to experience reeling in a small sturgeon but they had a big time on the river!
Day 3 started out with a lot of excitement on Tonya Fillmore’s boat, Melissa Olson brought in a 31″ Hatchery putting her into 2nd place for Biggest Fish! Congrats Melissa! Then Donna Davis and Debbie Curry brought fish into the boat, a hatchery and a wild fish for them!
A little bit of sucesss in Hells Canyon too. Erin Timinsky lucked out with a 25″ steelhead which lands her in 4th Place Biggest Fish!
