Hells Canyon Tour Boat Heads Downriver

Administrator General Blog Leave a Comment

Last week Captain Rich drove “Prouty”, our infamous Hells Canyon Tour boat,  downriver from Pittsburg Landing, out of the normal route, to storage in Lewiston at Bentz Boats. Bentz is the company that built us our Prouty. It was a family affair as Romine, Rich’s dad, went with. You can hear a bit of their family history on the Salmon River on our Salmon River jet boat tours ;). Romine rode to Pittsburg Landing and after they got the boat in the water he took off to drive the pickup and trailer to Lewiston to be there when Rich got there with the tour boat to take it back out of water and transport it to storage. We like to take …

The day of the Wild fish on the Salmon River!

Administrator Fishing Report, General Blog Leave a Comment

Another epic day on the Salmon River! We had some clients that we take fishing every year and always enjoy them coming back. The trip leader, Dan, has family in Riggins he makes the trip out here all the way from Georgia and brings some buddies. The fishing was still a bit slow, but still we got into couple steelhead and a few big ol’ Bull Trout. The big Wild Steelhead we got landed though definitely made up for it though! Was very exciting! They were doing some prescribed burns in the area and it was a little bit smokey but made for some magical scenery, and the bighorn sheep are down at the river for us to view. Check …

First Fall Steelhead Trip on Salmon River

Administrator Fishing Report, General Blog Leave a Comment

We just had our first trip out for the Fall Steelhead Fishing Season on the Salmon River. We took a small group of guys out from Eastern Idaho/Utah. It was a very cold morning but the sun came out and warmed the air and it was a beautiful day on the Salmon River. And, yes, we were able to catch some steelhead. Was a little slow going but caught some wild fish and a hatchery that our fisherman released oafter couple quick snaps. More steelhead are showing up so we’re anticipating a little more catching in the coming days on the Salmon, River of No Return. In the meantime, enjoy these beautiful pictures of the Salmon River and our day …

Birthday Surprise in Hells Canyon!

Administrator General Blog Leave a Comment

We had such a great family fishing trip in Hells Canyon a couple weeks ago, it was a Birthday surprise for Rick. The story behind wanting to go back to the Imnaha area and the day they had planned is…..awesome. Last year Jessica drew a once in a lifetime hunt, for bighorn sheep in the unit near Imnaha, Oregon, which is near Hells Canyon. Jessica, her husband Joe and father-in-law Rick went on this hunt. Rick watched the action from a ridge away as Jessica got to achieve her goal of harvesting a Ram with her husband by her side. If that special memory wasn’t enough, they just really fell in love with the area and talked about wanting to …
