We are off again! With much better weather and everyone is over on the Salmon River this week. Kicking off a few day stint with lots of boats out! Let’s get to the fishin

Thursday 2/13/20

Bre Montgomery’s fun boat went out and caught 7 steelhead. Kate Showalter landed a 31″ Hatchery putting her in for a tie for 3rd Place Biggest Fish! She also caught the most on the boat reeling in 3 to herself. Bre nabbed 25.5″ hatchery and Shelby Goins a 23″. Courtney Barber and Kelly Ineck both got into some wild fish!

Over on Bre’s friend’s boat, Cindy Floyd’s crew didn’t get into as many fish but they still had a good time and Stanette Armfield and Hilary Warren reeled in some wild steelhead to make it not a skunked day!

Laurell Lawson’s group got into some fish with Rusty and Colt. Laurell herself caught 3! 2 Hatchery and a Wild. Laura Claffey also hooked into 2 Wild fish, along with Cynthia Bartholomew getting one. Nicely done ladies!

Wanda Clagg back again  this year and they caught 3 steelhead to the boat out there with Sam and Beaud at Spring Bar.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Feb 14th had some boats out trying to find a fish to be there Valentine and most of them succeeded! Arlene Haugse’s group had 5 go out and all 5 of them caught steelhead, all hatchery fish! Whoo whoo! Nice job! Karen Shrum reeling in a 25″. Arlene had a whopper 30″! Taryn Weaver hooked a 24″. Paula Prescott a 23.5″ and Kaitlynn Simpson a nice 24″.

Dusty Preece’s boat went out with Rusty and Chad and she reeled in a 24″ Hatchery and Jessica Biggs got herself a wild fish to the boat. Dusty was our biggest fish winner last year! She just got part of her prize back, her Professional Fish Mount by Pro Fish Taxidermy (John&Kelly Bambacigno). John did an awesome job!

Over on Darcy Braithwaite’s boat with Mike and Tommy these girls reeled them in too and fished hard all day! Lacy Cantrell caught 2 hatchery steelhead and one of them was a big 32″ sliding her into 2nd Place Biggest Fish for that day anywas! Congrats Lacy!

Feb 15th! We had a pretty fishy day! All boats catching still!

Amy Wilson’s group went out and put 4 into the boat. Amy is a native Riggins girl that loves to bring her friends back every year to have fun with old Classmates (still friends) Mike and Tommy. Had a few other local Riggins girls with them today too. Julie Water’s was a first timer and she reeled in a 26″ steelhead. Amy Wilson caught herself a 25″. Melinda Wudarcki hooked a 22.5″. Jessica Wilson caught a beautiful 28″ hatchery!

Downriver with Captain Rob, Amanda Thiel’s group landed 3 steelhead. Amanda herself caught 2 of those, they said she had two others on and lost them at the boat. Bummer! Jewels Carpenter reeled one in too Amanda caught a big one at 31.25″ which was putting her in the running for Biggest Fish

…..until we got Rich’s catch record…

Up on Michelle Cornell’s boat with Rich and Andrew…they brought in 6 total steelhead. Piper Connelly caught 2 Wild, Andrea Morones also landed a Wild fish. Mandy Clements right off the bat, caught a 32.5″ Hatchery catching herself in the running for 2nd Place Biggest Fish! She continued to reel them in catching a wild one and another 25″ hatchery. So, that also puts her in 3rd Place Most Fish! Sweet, Mandy, Good job!

Jan Moramarco’s group went to Spring Bar with Eric and Cody. They landed 2 fish. Beth Plaster with a nice 29″ Hatchery and Emmy Rackley with a wild one.

Sunday, Feb 16th- Every boat caught steelhead again today!

Hollie Brown’s boat managed 4 steelhead to the boat. A couple wild fish for Hollie and Laura Gray. 2 big hatchery fish too! Lisa Barnes with a 30″ and Nikki Gray a 30.5″! Good job ladies!

 

Sam Whitten’s girls had a great day and Ashlee Macfarlane made her day with 3 fish! A whopper 32″ hatchery and 2 Wild fish. The 32″ puts her in a tie for 3rd Place Biggest Fish!! Rachelle Marema also reeled in a wild fish.

Tina Ruffing had 2 boats go out. One boat, Kristen Ruffing caught a wild steelhead and Mary Fernandes a 25.25″ Hatchery! The other boat had Kelli Barnes reel in a 28″!

 

Cheree Bartram’s crew caught 2 for the day! Tara Lehman and Kimber Reinhardt were the fishy ladies today!

Note: Idaho Fish and Game will not permit Wild Fish to be measured.  For this reason, only Hatchery fish will be included in determining total inches.
