6, 6, and 5!
Yep, a lot of boats out for the weekend, as a result there was a lot of fun and fish to be had too. But, we had a storm system move in and seemed to slow the fish biting down a little bit at first, regardless the ladies still got some in the boat, catching a lot of other fish too.
Friday 2/28-
We had Telori Volk’s 2 boats – Blue Music Ranch’s Rod and Racks Team. Between the two boats they all caught fish and some of them steelhead too, all wild ones. Jill Terry has been coming for quite a few years and finally caught her first steelhead, which is awesome! They said they had a great time as always.

Jetting upriver
Jodi Reeder’s girls put 3 to the boat and brought smiles resulting in an epic day on the river. With Jodi catching a wild steelhead. Mishon Mauk and Meredith Newsome both caught 29″ Hatchery. They were missing their normal trip leader, Angie Robinson. Angie has been bringing a group for years, hope to see you next year, Angie!
Ali Horn’s group ended their good day with 4 steelhead and quite a bit of trash…trash fish that is!
Back downriver.
Stephanie Krasen’s boat was out this day too, they didn’t catch any steelhead 🙁 but they did have a good time and Stephanie caught a trash fish! Stephanie is also the owner of The Mossy Stone Collection and gave us her amazing salves to put in your ladies’ goodies this year! Her Etsy store, Mossy Stone or Check her out on Facebook HERE!
Saturday, LEAP DAY! 2/29
The fish biting picked up just a bit more today, but was still a grind. We had quite a few boats of our long timers here today, which is always so much fun!
Seasoned WWB ladies below:
Kate McGwire’s two boat crew were out and Kate’s been bringing her girls since 2008. Which has, over the years, ended up transforming into 2 boats. They come up and have a great time every year, never a dull moment in town or on the boat. Lisa Zimowsky was the steelhead catcher on their boats. landing a wild and a 24″ hatchery. They reeled in some other fish and lots fun memories!
Michelle Jarrard’s boat, The Master Casters, had their final WWB trip :(. So, needless to say, we are so sad for this. This was her 20th year, therefore RA crew will miss her! Loads of memories with them. They brought some of the memories with them too. We really hope to see them back again in the future! They went out pretty good though. 3 steelhead to the boat and lots of other fish. Debby Sloan with a wild. Traci Huey a 25″ and Angela Stewart a 24″ hatchery.
Annette Gilmore has been bringing her group since 2009, Therefore, we another long timer for sure. We appreciate you girls! The Reel Knotty Gills, got REEL serious about catching fish. Annette caught a wild one. Hailey Goddard a sweet 25′ hatchery. Tavia Thompson reeled in a nice wild fish. Lisa Black went big, really big! She caught 3 wild fish, she caught a huge wild fish that really made her work for it. She was on a high all night from that adrenaline and took home a very sore reeling arm with the memory of landing some epic wild steelhead.
Before we head to the next day…
Nikki Higashi’s crew, the Filthy Oars, said they had an amazing time with Rusty and Chad, even though the catching wasn’t the best. Rachel Griffin reeled in a wild fish. They caught a few trash too!
Michelle Hollon’s group went out with some local gals along with some old friends! 4 fish to the boat. Marci Fox and Shoshanna Hollon catching wild fish. Shari Medley a 24″ hatchery. Chris Thornton reels in a 32″ hatchery which then puts her into a 3 way tie for 3rd Place Biggest Fish! Congrats lady!
Sunday! And just like that we are into March!
It was some hard fishing again today, these ladies all got it done though, at least every boat caught at least one steelhead!!
Terri Dickerson’s team reeled in a 25 hatchery and a good time!
Liz Thiel’s group had Amanda Thiel reel in a wild fish and a bunch of trash fish, and they got to feed an eagle one of those too, so check out that video below!
Star Nieves team went out with Rob and BIlly and they put a hatchery in the boat and a wild one. Star caught a 29″ and Jaymie Reitmann was our wild catcher. They caught a couple suckers too!
Rhonda Kingrey’s team….The tackle box beavers. Got that tackle in the water and caught a bunch of trash fish and Carla McHargue caught herself a 23 hatchery steelhead.
Shelby Franklin’s girls fish hard and as a result got into a couple steelhead. They also got to feed an eagle today with some of the trash fish they caught. Tracie Snyder caught a nice wild and Amber Patton a 25″ hatchery.
That wraps up the busy weekend for us!
