Well! Mother Nature sure has shown us she is boss! We went into Saturday the 13th with most boats going over to Hells Canyon and just 2 still at Spring Bar. By Sunday, though, they all had to go over the hill. The river here was slush and ice. And with bitter cold temps on Friday and Saturday, the Salmon became unfishable and unsafe. As a result, everyone is still over at Pittsburg right now, but we are closely monitoring river conditions and the river road to get back over here as soon as we are able to!

A little funny for ya! 🙂

Crossing Time Zone Bridge, pretty awesome picture!

In spite of the weather conditions and also being in Hells Canyon, we have still seen some steelhead being hooked! All the ladies have really rolled with the punches and had a great time with friends, we really appreciate you ladies being understanding to the things we can’t control, you’re awesome!

Ok, let’s get into fish and fun!

2/13

What a seriously cold day!! The steelhead were staying bundled up over at Spring Bar, snow and slush made it hard fishing. But, the gals from Jan Moramarco Group and Kandie Malone’s group (The Drifting Damsels) stuck it out anyways, unfortunately they didn’t catch anything but a good time and memories! The Drifting Damsel’s are my (Megan’s) family and friends so I get to go out one day and hang on the boat with them and it’s super special no matter what! Bait Boy Colt on Jan’s boat kept the ladies entertained with his killer dance moves all day….see video here and ones below!:

Jan Moramarco’s Group with their Captain Rusty and Bait Boy Colt…thanks for all the laughs ladies!

BRRR!

Drifting Damsels with Captain Mike and Bait Boy Tommy!

All the other boats had to go on over the hill to Pittsburg Landing to fish in Hells Canyon. Hells definitely didn’t feel like that, some girls said Hell Froze over! haha.

Hannah Rice’s group with Rob and Billy, Debra Mitchell caught a wild steelhead and the rest of the team caught some trash fish and trout. They said they had a fantastic time! Brenda Huston’s crew..The moonshiners!! were out with Sam and Beaud. We are so thankful for their patience with us, they were supposed to fish Friday but we had some boat issues but they went with it with grace and we got them out Saturday instead! yay!

Shannon Pruett caught a 25.5″ Hatchery.. Michelle Colton with a 30.5″. Lisa Black a 29″! They caught a few other non-steelhead and were hooked into a Sturgeon for a bit but lost it 🙁

We were able to have a few boats get into some steelhead this day in Hells Canyon. Above all, all the girls had a great Valentine’s on the river!  Tina Ruffing had a two boat gang out and the boat she was on brought in 3 steelhead! Katie Bonogofsky caught one first cast, first hole! Lucky number one Ashley Dettmann and Shania Simpons were the other lucky steelhead ladies! Our bait boy, Brian, went extra special and got his boat all roses, how sweet is that!? Erin Timinksy’s group with Rusty and Colt, also put 2 steelhead and some trash fish in the boat with Louis Massoth landing a wild one and Elisa Pendergrass with a 22.25″ hatchery.
