The 30th Annual Women With Bait Steelhead tournament has kicked off! We are super excited, hope you are too! It’s been a little unseasonably warm around here with a bit of rain lately as well which resulted in the river coming up and ice coming out. So, let’s get right into the fishing!
First Day Friday! 2-2
We had the Garringer 3 boat group out today at Spring Bar, with a couple of them catching steelhead. Kate Walton landed a wild fish with Rob & James.Terra Estrada caught herself a hatchery steelhead with Sam & Willie, and it was a 24.5″ hatchery. All the boats caught a few trash fish too!

Upriver on Rich & Paul’s boat we had Diane Hardin’s crew wild, wild fish that is! Angie Hemenway landed 2 wild steelhead and so did Heather Varriale. Adele Martin & Melissa Jacob’s reeled in 1 wild steelhead each.
Saturday 2-3
Another 4 boats out today. 2 at Vinegar and 2 at Spring Bar.
Eleanor Starr part of Dixie Milliken’s crew reeled in a big wild fish with Rob & James.

Valerie Simmon’s team ;”Double Treble” found some wild ones too. Valerie herself reeled in a wild steelhead. Sydney Odham, Dona Jenkin Vicki Laursen and Deana Smith all also landed 1 Wild steelhead each. Jordan Trevino caught 2 wild steelhead. They also had some trash fish too!

Sunday 2-4
Just 3 boats out today, but they managed to find a few more hatchery fish today!
Kendall Ridgley’s boat fish with Rich and Pauly and landed 4 steelhead total. Jen Thornfeldt with a wild one. Megan Christiansen with a 25″ hatchery. Gina Gonzales reeled in a wild one and a 22.5″ hatchery! This puts her in our 1st Place Most Fish!
Kathi Bruderer’s boat reeled in 2 hatchery with Brian and Dylan at Spring Bar. Shannon Bruderer a 24.25 inch keeper and Jen Chitwood with a 23.25″ keeper,
Monday 2-5
The river took a turn on us overnight and got a little muddy. We have had quite a bit of rain and warmer temperatures, so this resulted in not so great fishing 🙁
Suzan Ramsey with Diana Schlegel’s boat was lucky and managed to land a 22.5″ hatchery with Sam and James out of Vinegar though.

Kylie Gonzales’ group didn’t land any steelhead but did catch couple trash fish….and a BIG stick…and a good time 😉

Note: Idaho Fish and Game will not permit Wild Fish to be measured. For this reason, only Hatchery fish will be included in determining total inches.
